FormFlow v0.9.8
FormFlow v0.9.8 is out. This post lists what the release notes in our repository say changed, in plain terms.
In the v0.9.8 commit
A new landing page.
A lookup editor: configure lookups that fill fields from another source while someone fills in a form.
DOCX templates.
Adobe Express as a design source, next to Canva.
The template catalog now has 631 template types.
Just before it: v0.9.7
v0.9.7 closed a list of gaps against other form builders that we had tracked internally.
Layout controls
Much of the work leading up to this release went into design and layout settings, so that forms can be built to match a wanted layout closely:
Question number format, start and position; required marker text and position, or marking optional fields instead.
Action buttons: back label and style, up to four link, reset or print buttons, in a row, split or stacked layout.
A pinned corner logo, and a corner up/down question pair on page layouts.
Site bars with link styles and alignment, sticky or fixed bars with a set height, and sticky banners.
A note beside the button row, and a language switcher position.
One-box date entry with the calendar button inside.
Free placement as a fallback: text, images, buttons with real actions, links, icon buttons and shapes pinned to the page or the screen, each with its own style.
Regions, structured extras and packed grids.
To test this work we rebuilt a large set of publicly captured forms in FormFlow and compared the rendered boxes. Our own measurements are in the parity notes in the repository; we are not claiming more than that.
